Vega Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake

I’ve heard about Vega for years but never really felt the need to include a supplement in my life. I’m old school, I believe in getting your nutrition from plants, legumes and grains. For the past year I have felt tired, listless, I’ve had unexplained skin issues, digestive issues and an assortment of other things that make me question if I’m at my optimum health right now. I would never, EVER think of eating meat as a solution and frankly consider those that give up veganism at the first sign of a decrease in health to be weak and foolish. Veganism is hands down the healthiest diet out there for you, the planet and the animals. Like everybody else, omni and vegan alike, you must ensure proper nutrition, which is a challenge sometimes in this world of convenient foods. The more we get away from a pure diet, the worse we will feel. I’ve been researching a way to get all my vitamins and minerals without popping a pill everyday and remembered all the great things I have heard about Vega. I bought samples of the chocolate, vanilla chai and berry flavor to experiment with them before committing to buying a large container. I made a chocolate peanut butter shake this morning and braced myself for the first sip. I assumed it would be nasty, as most protein powders are. It was actually delicious! I loved it! It was chocolatey without being sweet and incredibly satisfying. I haven’t even tried the other two flavors yet but the chocolate is definitely in the running for the one I’ll end up purchasing. I didn’t have ice this morning so naturally I had to use ice cream to make it cold. I’m crafty that way.

So Delicious Vanilla Bean Coconut Ice Cream

I was afraid the chocolate flavor of Vega wouldn’t be any good so I used Almond Breeze chocolate milk in my concoction, though you could probably use any kind of non-dairy milk and it would still be delicious.

Almond Breeze Chocolate Milk
Vega Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake
1 banana (ideally frozen)
1 scoop of chocolate Vega
1/2 cup of So Delicious vanilla bean coconut ice cream
3/4 cups of ice (I would have done this if I had any)
2 tbsp of creamy peanut butter
1 cup Almond Breeze chocolate milk
Place all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth. Adjust liquid as necessary. Enjoy!
Servings: 1 16oz Shake
Preparation: 5 minutes
